  • The applicable interest rate is determined according to the financial risk assumed by the SADC in the project

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Being headquartered within the Coaticook MRC and having fewer than 200 employees
  • Demonstrating that the project will help create or maintain jobs in the Coaticook MRC
  • Being able to show that the project will have economic spinoffs for the region and the potential for profitability and viability

Youth investment fund

The objective of the Youth Investment Fund (Stratégie jeunesse) is to encourage young people ages 18 to 39 to start their own business. This is a unique and advantageous financial product, with personal loans ranging from $5,000 to $25,000. It is an important springboard for young entrepreneurs, enabling them to gather the financing they need to make their business project a reality. Since the fund’s creation in 1997, a total of nearly $2,560,000 has been disbursed in the region.

In addition to encouraging the acquisition, start-up, expansion or modernization of a business by one or more youths, the fund promotes young people’s employability and social, cultural and economic involvement in our community.

  • Personal loan ranging from $5,000 to $25,000
  • Loan repayable over a maximum term of 7 years
  • Interest-free for the first 24 months
  • File-opening fees: $75
  • Management fee of 0.95% of the amount granted
  • Interest rate determined according to financial risk
  • No penalty for early repayment

Appointment with a business advisor

First appointment with a business advisor to discuss your project and determine its eligibility. Make sure you bring along all the documents on the list!

For a start-up project: Business plan, financial projections.

For an existing business: Project description, most recent financial statements, most recent interim financial statements, financial projections.

File development by business advisers

Once the advisors have all the documents required, they will review your application for financing and draw up a file for presentation to the Investment Committee.

Presentation of the project to the Investment Committee

Your project will be presented for approval.

Contract signing and disbursement

An appointment will be arranged with your advisor to obtain certain documents, sign contracts and explain the reimbursement terms.

Follow-up throughout the loan

A business advisor will follow up with your project and can offer personalized advisory services as needed.
