Coaticook, March 17 2025 — In response to the Trump administration’s potential tariffs, the Société d’aide au développement de la collectivité (SADC) de la région de Coaticook and the Coaticook MRC are launching a survey to measure the impacts of tariffs among businesses in the territory.
“The results will give us more information on the potential impact of tariffs on local businesses and enable us to better respond to their needs, which is why their participation in the consultation is so important,” says Rafaël Gendron, General Manager of the SADC Coaticook Region.
The objective of this approach is to provide enhanced support to companies operating in a volatile economic environment. “The imposition of new tariffs inevitably creates challenges for our companies. We aim to understand the impact on their operations and identify how economic development organizations can effectively support them in these turbulent times,” says François Desmarais, Director of Economic Development for the Coaticook MRC.
In addition to assessing the impact of tariffs, this consultation will provide a clear picture of the challenges faced by businesses in the region. The results will guide SADC and the MRC in adapting their services to better respond to the new economic realities.
The survey is available online at the following address: https://forms.office.com/r/f2ZgtWUUy9. Responses will be collected until March 28.
