At its annual general meeting held at the Pavillon des arts et de la culture de Coaticook on Thursday, June 6, the Société d’aide au développement de la collectivité (SADC) de la région de Coaticook presented its achievements from over the past year.
As the region eagerly awaits La Grande Échappée, a roving street theatre performance that will take audiences on a tour of downtown Coaticook this summer, the SADC team proudly presented the highlights of 2023-2024. Through the programs it manages, the SADC contributed $381,593 to community development:
- $126,593 of non-repayable financial aid injected into 37 projects;
- $255,000 of loans to seven businesses, in turn creating six new jobs and retaining 39 more;
- Almost 800 hours of volunteering by 11 members of the Board of Directors.
Working with its partners, the SADC is actively committed to identifying solutions to the challenges our region faces by developing projects that bring real change. The SADC’s new strategic planning approach, presented during the AGM, reflects this commitment: closing the gap between economic development and social development, gaining in-depth understanding of environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria, promoting the development of the Cœurs Villageois, giving businesses a more sustainable future and investing in collective projects that are meaningful to the region.
