During its annual general meeting, held at the Épervier pub in Coaticook on Thursday, June 12, the Société d’aide au développement de la collectivité (SADC) de la région de Coaticook outlined its achievements over the past year.
Eastern Townships humorist Émilie Lapointe punctuated the evening with anecdotes. The evening was interspersed with testimonials from various organizations that the SADC supported or partnered with. The staff proudly presented the highlights of the year 2024-2025: through the various programs it managed, the SADC de la région de Coaticook contributed a total of $1,039,760 to the community development of 59 businesses in the Coaticook region, including 12 social economy enterprises, for a total of $521,235 in non-repayable financial assistance and $518,525 in loans, in addition to leading 12 local development projects.
It’s time for Rafaël Gendron, General Manager since last year, to take a look back: “I’m proud of the results we’ve achieved, despite the transition period. Our renewed team has demonstrated a great capacity to adapt. The coming year will be driven by a clear determination: to work together with our partners to generate a concrete impact in our community.”
The SADC took the opportunity at its AGM to thank Sylvie Giguère, a member of the Board of Directors since 2011. After 14 years of dedicated volunteer work, Ms. Giguère is stepping down, passing the torch on to the next generation of board members.
